Based on Floquet scattering matrix theory, the electron transmission through a periodic time-dependent potential in monolayer graphene is studied. It is found that the quantum interference between the bound states and continuum states due to the interaction of electron with oscillating field can result in the occurrence of asymmetric Fano-type resonance in transmission. The Fano-type resonance could be controlled by adjusting the momentum parallel to the potential well, the oscillation frequency, and amplitude. These results may be useful for probing the energy spectrum, the internal potential, and the geometric structure of graphene. (C) 2012 American Institute of Physics.
