A tandem signal amplification using bioconjugated graphene oxide and subsequent silver catalytic deposition for surface plasmon resonance imaging (SPRi) to sensitively and specifically immunoassay tumor bio-markers in serum, achieving a limit of detection down to 100 pg mL(-1) with a broad dynamic range for alpha-Fetoprotein (AFP) is reported.
