A new type of polypyrimidine was prepared by 2-amino-4,6-diiodidepyrimidine and 2,7-bis (4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)-9,9-dioct- ylfluorene by Suzuki polycondensation. In this paper, the synthesis method of conjugated polymer poly [2-pyrimidin-9,9-dioctylfluorene](P1) was reported, and characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectra (1H NMR) analysis. Graphene (Gr) was modificated by P1, and this modification of the Gr by P1 change the surface area. Graphene/polymer (Gr/P1) hybrid was synthesized and characterized by Raman spectra, X-ray photo-electron spectroscopy (XPS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The morphology of the Gr/P1 was revealed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and tansmission electron microscope (TEM). Then, Gr/P1 is compounded with platinum (Pt) to obtain nanocomposite material graphene/polymer/platinum (Gr/P1/Pt) for fuel cells. The structural of the Gr/P1/Pt demonstrated by high magnification SEM analysis and EDS elemental mapping images, in the SEM analysis and EDS spectrum can inferred the Gr/Pl/Pt was successfully synthesize. The electrochemical behavior illustrated by cyclic voltammograms (CV), galvanostatic charge/discharge curves and Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The CV curves of Gr/Pl/Pt showed that the ECSA (electrochemically active surface area) of Pt is 141.6 m(2)/g. The EIS results consistent with Cyclic voltammograrns measurement. The present study shows that the hybrid Gr/P1/Pt has high ECSA and large conductivity demonstrating a new and powerful approach for the development of high-performance Pt-based electro-catalysts for fuel cells.
