Silver nanoparticles were loaded on reduced graphene oxide sheets by silver mirror reaction. The Ag-reduced graphene oxide (rGO) composites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, transmission electron microscopy and Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Antibacterial activity of Ag-rGO composites against Escherichia coli (E. coli) was investigated by LB solid medium and LB fluid medium. Results showed that the prepared Ag-rGO composites exhibited good inhibition effect. When the composite concentration was 80 mu g/mL, growth of E. coli was limited largely. It suggests that Ag-rGO composites can be used as a novel antibacterial material.
