▎ 摘 要
Functionalised graphene (AGO-C(n)), when paired with base oils, results in a product that is dispersively stable with enhanced tribological properties. Straight alkyl chains provided by octadecylarnine (ODA), tetradecylamine (IDA), and decylamine (DA) were covalently attached to graphene oxide (GO) via the direct amidation process to synthesise amide-functionalised graphene oxide (AGO-C(n)). The attachment of the ODA, TDA, and DA at the surface of the GO was confirmed via the FTIR, XRD, TGA, Raman, and FESEM/EDX techniques. The hydrophobicity of AGO-C(n) was established via its higher contact angle relative to GO. Stable dispersion of AGO-C(n) in base oil after 30 days was confirmed by UV-vis technique. The AGO-C(n) demonstrated superior tribological behaviour relative to GO due to its high reduction of coefficient of friction (CoF) and wear scar diameter (WSD) of similar to 22% and similar to 61% (highest), respectively.
