The measurement of 5-fluorouracil in body fluids is important due to the side effects of this drug that causes neurotoxicity in humans. In this direct, an electrochemical sensor based on the screen-printed electrode (SPE) with cobalt sulfide-graphene nanocomposite (CosGr) was developed for the determination of 5-fluorouracil. The CosGr-SPE presents a wide linear range from 0.1 mu M to 600 mu M with LOD of 0.04 mu M. The real sample analysis results confirm that the CosGr/SPE is appropriate for detection of fluorouracil in real samples. This developed electrochemical sensor offers acceptable reproducibility, repeatability, sensitivity and low limit of detection toward 5-fluorouracil.
