▎ 摘 要
Graphene nanoplatelets (0.5-1 wt. %) reinforced nickel aluminium (NiAl) coating has been fabricated using shroud plasma spray technique in a quest to achieve an optimized strength-ductility combination. Implementation of an inert shroud atmosphere led to the retention of GNPs in the coatings. XPS results confirmed the presence of 62% sp(2) C-C bond in NiAl-1GNP coatings. In-situ tensile tests were conducted on the free standing coatings to understand the strengthening and deformation mechanisms offered by the GNP reinforcement. NiAl-GNP coatings showed 60% higher tensile strength and 25% improved ductility on mere addition of 1 wt. % GNP. Shearing and tearing of GNPs is also observed which aids to strengthening.
