Ag coating, Ag-graphite composite coating and Ag-graphene composite coating were prepared on copper surface by electrodeposition. Their microstructure, composition, wear resistance, anti-corrosion properties, and contact electric resistivity were investigated. The results show that all the coatings have good adhesion with the substrate. The addition of 3.95 at% graphene to the Ag coating could increase its hardness by more than 20%. Compared to the Cu substrate and other two coatings, Ag-graphene composite coating exhibits the lowest friction coefficient and the smallest wear width. The self-corrosion current density of Ag-graphene composite coating in 3.5% NaCl solution is 1.139 mu A cm(-2), which is also smaller than those of the other coatings. The addition of graphene has little effect on the contact resistance of the coating. The present results indicate that the Ag-graphene composite coating has great potential for high-voltage isolation switch application.
