Atomic layers of graphene were optomechanically laminated onto gold bipyramids (length of similar to 95 +/- 3 nm and sharp tip radius less than 10 nm) using laser induced shock pressure. The fabricated graphene-gold bipyramid hybridswere employed as surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active substrates for the detection of tetracycline, an antibiotic, at very low concentrations.
