▎ 摘  要

We have developed a facile, fast and scalable microwave irradiation (MWI) method for the synthesis of CdS nanocrystals dispersed on graphene sheets. The reduction of graphene oxide (GO) into graphene takes place in ethylene glycol within 5 min of MWI. The method indicates the simultaneous reduction of GO, and a homogeneous distribution of CdS nanocrystals on the graphene nanosheets (GNs) was formed. Moreover, visible photocatalytic activity of the composites was tested using rhodamine B as the model contaminant. Compared with the corresponding bare GNs and CdS, the GNs-CdS nanocomposites display distinctly enhanced photocatalytic activities. The investigation gave a promise to the development of original yet highly efficient graphene based photocatalysts that utilise visible light as an energy source.
