Bi4O5Br2 is an excellent semiconductor photocatalyst, but it has limited the visible light absorption range and wide optical band gap. To overcome these drawbacks, Bi4O5Br2/graphene composite samples were prepared using the hydrothermal method and analyzed the morphology, structure, and composition by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), x-ray diffractometer (XRD), and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The photocatalytic activity of samples was evaluated by the degradation of rhodamine B solution, which showed that the photocatalytic performance of Bi4O5Br2 was greatly improved. The maximum improvement of the photocatalytic performance of samples was obtained when the graphene content was 0.0048 g. However, the excess graphene affected the photocatalytic performance.
