Graphenes were synthesized simply by spray pyrolysis at different temperatures and subsequently characterized. The graphene oxide-based precursor served as source of carbon, while nitrogen was selected as carrier gas. Fabrication at a temperature of 800 degrees C led to the product with highest quality. This graphene had a high specific surface area and presented a nanoporous structure. Characteristics of the obtained graphenes such as crystallinity and crystal size varied under different temperatures. These findings were confirmed by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) studies.
