In order to explore a possibility of graphene oxide as a flexible barrier material, graphene oxide/polyelectrolyte nano-composite film was prepared using Layer-by-Layer process and its barrier characteristics were evaluated. The effects of hydrophilic ligands and interplanar spacing between graphene oxide layers on the barrier characteristics were investigated by using multi polyelectrolyte layers and heat treatment. And in order to reduce the ingress of water molecules through defects such as vacancies and nano-scale pores in the graphene oxide basal plane, an aluminum film of various thickness was deposited. As a result, the Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) obtained was 1.3x10(-3) g/m(2) . day.
