▎ 摘 要
The present study investigated the efficiency of graphene oxide nanosheet as adsorbent for the treatment of phenol containing solution in presence of ultrasonic irradiation. Graphene oxide was synthesized using modified Hummer's method and was further subjected to ultrasonic irradiation. The characterization of graphene oxide was performed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Effect of different parameters such as adsorbent dosage, temperature, pH and initial concentration of phenol in solution on the removal of phenol from aqueous solution was also studied. Data obtained were analyzed using different adsorption isotherm models like Langmuir, Freundlich and Temkin. Adsorption kinetics was also elucidated using pseudo first order, second order and intraparticular diffusion models. From experimental results it could be concluded that the concerned process was best guided by Langmuir isotherm and pseudo 2nd order kinetics. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
