With the continuous development of industry and agriculture, the levels of heavy metal ions, organic dyes, biological waste and other pollutants are becoming increasingly serious. The ecological environment and human health have suffered greatly adverse effects. The disposal of pollutants has become an urgent issue for the human society. GO-based magnetic composites have many excellent properties, including high specific surface area, excellent stability, easy modification, and functionalization. The composites can effectively treat contaminants while being easily separated and recycled, which have received extensive attention. In this review, the main roles of GO-based magnetic composites in the field of pollutant treatment are introduced, their synthesis technology and general classification are summarized, and their recent applications are briefly reviewed. Finally, the current challenges and prospects in this field are presented, aiming to provide useful insights into the fields of pollutant adsorption and photocatalytic degradation.
