Biochar can significantly affect soil quality. Soil microbial biomass and soil enzyme are important indicators of soil quality change. However, traditional biochar costs large application amount but produce poor effect when it is used to remedy polluted soil. This study used graphene to modify biochar. Biochar and graphene-modified biochar were prepared from 4 raw materials, the effects of different amounts of graphene-modified biochar on soil enzyme activity and microbial biomass carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus were studied. Results showed that the effects of biochar from different raw materials on soil enzyme activity were different, and there were differences between different treatments of the same material. The rice straw biochar performed the best in increasing soil enzyme activity. The soil urease and sucrase activities decreased when platane wood- and peanut shell-derived biochar were applied, while the corn straw- and rice straw-derived biochar increased the activities of soil urease, cellulase, sucrase and protease. Graphene-modified biochar increased the contents of soil microbial biomass carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus by 163-298, 29.7-58.4 and 4.20-18.3 mg/kg, respectively.
