Herein, a novel magnetic graphene oxide composite coated by poly(2-aminothiazole) was synthesized. The nanoadsorbent was characterized with FT-IR, VSM, SEM and XRD. The nanoadsorbent was suitable for extractive preconcentration of Cr(VI). Experimental design was employed for optimizing the affective variables. After optimization, various equilibrium isotherms were investigated to analyze the adsorption data. The results revealed that the adsorption process obeyed the Langmuir model. Kinetic studies indicated the adsorption process followed a pseudo-second-order model. Under the opted conditions, limit of detection and relative standard deviation (%) of the developed method was 1.0 ng L-1 and 8.5%, respectively. Maximum sorption capacity of the sorbent for Cr(VI) ions was 250 mg g(-1). Finally, this method was successfully utilized to the rapid determination of trace Cr(VI) in water samples.
