▎ 摘  要

In the present work, Al5083-Graphene composite was successfully produced by friction stir processing (FSP). Appearance of texture in FSPed Al5083 with and without Graphene was clearly observed from the X-ray diffraction analysis. Increased hardness and tensile strength were measured for both the FSPed samples compared with the base alloy due to the grain refinement and additionally due to the presence of Graphene in the composite. However, the % of elongation of the composite was decreased compared with FSPed and base material. Machining studies from drilling experiments revealed higher cutting forces for FSPed Al5083 compared with the composite and base material. These results suggested that the presence of Graphene acted as solid lubricant which increased the machinability and decreased the cutting forces during drilling. Corrosion behavior assessed by electrochemical studies indicated decreased corrosion resistance for the composite compared with FSPed alloy, but was marginally improved compared with that of base material. The results demonstrated improved mechanical properties and better machinability of Al5083-Graphene composites. However, deteriorated corrosion resistance is an important concern must be considered, while developing Al5083-Graphene composite by FSP.
