NOVELTY - The method for preparing graphene/silicon composite cathode material involves preparing graphene oxide solution by modified Hummer method, uniformly mixing tetraethyl orthosilicate as a silicon source with graphene oxide and magnesium powder under stirring condition, ultrasonically dispersing, drying the mixed solution into a powder by a spray dryer, carrying out high-temperature reduction, washing with dilute acid and with distilled water, drying and crushing into powder. USE - Method is useful for preparing graphene/silicon composite cathode material, which is useful in a battery for an energy vehicle (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode material has high capacity and conductivity, and improves charge and discharge capacity, cycle performance and rate performance of the battery. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the high capacity graphene/silicon composite cathode material prepared by the above method.
