NOVELTY - Graphene powder comprises graphene nanoflakes comprising metallic particles deposited on it, where the particles comprise at least one of copper, copper oxide, copper sulfide, tin, tin sulfide, tin oxide, iridium dihydride, iron carbonyl, at least one manganese complex, at least one rhodium complex, at least one iron complex, at least one copper complex, bismuth, at least one bismuth complex, cobalt oxide, at least one ruthenium complex, at least one rhenium complex, at least one osmium complex, lead, lead oxide, mercury and an alloy of at least one metals comprising copper, tin, bismuth, lead, mercury or iron. The metallic particles comprise metallic nanoparticles. The graphene nanoflakes are composed of 5-20 stacked layers of graphene. The nanoflakes comprises at least 15 wt.% copper. USE - The powder is useful in electrode for producing a fuel (all claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) an electrode comprising the graphene powder; (2) manufacturing carbon particles with metallic particle deposits comprising introducing carbon particles into a hydrophilic solvent, resulting in a mixture, dissolving a metal salt in the mixture, drying the mixture and pyrolyzing the dried mixture; (3) carbon particles with metal particle deposits manufactured by the method; and (4) producing a fuel from carbon dioxide, using the carbon particles.
