NOVELTY - Preparing niobium carbide nanomaterial comprises using niobium pentoxide as niobium source, and using at least one of acetone, activated carbon, graphite, and graphene as the carbon source, then mixing the niobium source, carbon source and reducing agent, performing microwave-auxiliary reaction to obtain reaction powder, then placing the reaction powder in an acid solution for carrying out acid leaching, drying and filtering. USE - The method is useful for preparing niobium carbide nanomaterial. ADVANTAGE - The method: gradually adds niobium crystal with a carbon source to be carbonized and reduced to form niobium carbide; can greatly reduce the temperature required for reaction; can reduce energy consumption; and is easy to perform surface functionalization. The nanomaterial: has uniform morphology and particle size. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for niobium carbide nanomaterial prepared by the above method.
