NOVELTY - The system has a lithium-ion battery as base energy source for providing energy density and bulk power. Graphene-based ultracapacitor is arranged for providing power density for fast-charging and discharging during transient conditions. Fuel cell stack is utilized as a range extender for providing high energy density for charging the battery. The stack is affixed with on-board hydrogen generation reactor as hydrogen generator for producing hydrogen gas from water through hydrolysis to generate electricity through the fuel cell stacks and powers the stacks. USE - Hydrogen hybrid storage system for powering a hydrogen hybrid electric vehicle. Uses include but are not limited to road and rail vehicles, surface and underwater vessels, electric aircraft and electric spacecraft. ADVANTAGE - The system has a graphene-based ultracapacitor used as supporting energy source for providing power density for fast-charging and discharging during transient conditions, and the fuel cell stack as a range extender providing high energy density for charging the lithium-ion battery.
