▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Lithiating electrochemical cell set within battery packaging involves lithiating electrode in electrochemical cell by applying current across first current collector of electrode to second current collector of auxiliary electrode. The auxiliary electrode is set within battery packaging adjacent to edge of electrochemical cell. The electrode comprises first electroactive layer set on or near surfaces of first current collector. The auxiliary electrode comprises second electroactive layer set at or near surfaces of second current collector. USE - Method for lithiating electrochemical cell set within battery packaging. ADVANTAGE - The method enables to improve structural integrity and wettability, increases overall output and total lithiation capacity, and promotes lithium ion conductivity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for pre-lithiating electrochemical cell including electrode comprising first current collector, which involves: a. setting within battery packaging auxiliary electrode adjacent to edge of electrochemical cell, where auxiliary electrode comprises electroactive layer and second current collector extending perpendicularly from electroactive layer, where first end of second current collector interfaces with electroactive layer and second end of second current collector extends out of battery packaging; b. applying current across first and second current collector so as to pre-lithiate electrode; c. extracting auxiliary electrode from battery packaging.
