NOVELTY - The electrochemical etching apparatus (100) has a cathode (108) coupled to a container (104) to fluidly communicate with the electrolyte inside the container. An anode (110) has a metal plate that has a first portion in electrical communication with the positive terminal (114) of a power supply (102) to receive the current from the positive terminal. An electrically conductive polymer couples the metal plate to the graphene layer (118) of anode, such that the electrically conductive polymer and graphene layer are disposed between the metal substrate layer (120) and metal plate of the anode. USE - Electrochemical etching apparatus for use on metal substrates. ADVANTAGE - Provides an electrochemical etching apparatus in which the etching time is independent from the remaining thickness of the metal substrate layer, thus ensuring reduced overall etching time. Ensures that the composition of the electrolyte solution can be maintained, thus providing an environmentally-friendly solution for disposing the electrolyte solution. Ensures reduced overall etching time of the copper film to achieve large scale productions of graphene. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The container is configured to contain the electrolyte. The cathode has a portion electrically connected to the negative terminal (112) of the power supply. The anode has a portion electrically connected to the positive terminal of the power supply.
