NOVELTY - The sheet (281) comprises a spatial distribution of defects occurred in a carbon lattice, where buckling properties of the sheet are controlled such that the sheet buckles in a pattern. The defects comprise a region of non-hexagonal carbon linkages, and are separated by a region of hexagonal carbon linkages. The defects comprise a region of chemical groups coupled to the sheet. The carbon lattice defines a plane, and the defects form out-of plane formation that controls global buckling of the sheet. USE - Graphene sheet. ADVANTAGE - The defects can be arranged to locally, regionally or globally induce or inhibit buckling of the sheet. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The spatial distribution of defects is blisters and dimples. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for the following: (1) a method for tailoring buckling properties of a graphene sheet (2) a nanomechanical resonator. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic elevational view of a nanomechanical resonator.
