NOVELTY - A high-performance aluminum ion battery has a positive electrode consisting of graphene-nickel composite material comprising graphene embedded with nickel nanoparticles having diameter of 0.5-10 mu m, a negative electrode, an electrolyte and a separator provided between electrodes. The negative electrode comprises 3-8 %mass aluminum-manganese alloy. The electrolytic solution contains 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation, trivalent aluminum ion and chloride ion. The molar ratio of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation and trivalent aluminum ion is more than 3:2 and less than 4:1. USE - High-performance aluminum ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The aluminum ion battery has high thermal stability, safety, durability and energy density.
