NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-coated silica based on metal catalysis, involves placing metal catalytic substrate in the reaction chamber, removing natural oxide layer on the metal catalytic substrate to expose the metal layer, selecting gaseous hydrocarbon carbon source as precursor, forming graphene on metal layer by chemical vapor deposition, closing gaseous hydrocarbon carbon source of the reaction chamber, passing source of silicon-containing gas and reducing gas, evaporating silicon atoms to epitaxially grow diaminosilylene on the graphene surface layer, turning off only the silicon-containing gas source or simultaneously turning off the silicon-containing gas source and the reducing gas, introducing the gaseous hydrocarbon carbon source to coat carbon atoms on the surface of the silica. USE - Preparation of graphene-coated silica based on metal catalysis for removing metal layer (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The silica maintains the original structure in air, and the preparation conditions are more relaxed and simple. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a graphene-coated silica comprises metal layers, and first graphene layer that is formed on the metal layer. The silica is formed on an outer surface of the first graphene layer and a second graphene layer is formed on an outer surface of silica; and (2) a method of using graphene-coated silica, removing metal layer by etching.
