NOVELTY - The modulator has a phase modulation and interference system with double-arm that are equipped with a graphite film and a graphene thin film electrode. An upper modulation arm is provided with upper arm modulating voltage (V1), and a lower modulation arm is provided with lower arm modulating voltage (V2). An electric field caused by the graphene thin film electrode is loaded into the graphite film. The graphite film absorbs light field energy so as to modulate amplitude and phase of guide light in the modulation arms. USE - Graphene based mach-zehnder electro-optical modulator. ADVANTAGE - The modulator uses graphene as a quick response characteristic to improve transmission rate and capacity, and provides multiple signal points under minimum Euclidean distance.
