NOVELTY - Bipyridine cobalt/graphene composite material is self-assembled by cobalt bipyridine and graphene through hydrothermal π to π /* and the mass ratio of bipyridine cobalt to graphene is 1:8-12. USE - Used as bipyridine cobalt/graphene composite material. ADVANTAGE - The material has excellent catalytic activity for the catalytic oxygen reduction of fuel cell cathodes, stability and good methanol resistance. The method is simple and easy to implement and convenient. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for preparing the bipyridine cobalt/graphene composite material, comprising (i) dissolving 2,2'-bipyridine in absolute ethanol, and dissolving cobalt acetate tetrahydrate in deionized water, slowly adding the 2,2'-bipyridine absolute ethanol solution into the cobalt acetate tetrahydrate deionized aqueous solution, and stirring for 2 hours, reacting, extracting with petroleum ether, distilling and drying in vacuum at 40-50° C for 12 hours, obtaining the bipyridine cobalt, where the mass ratio of bipyridine and cobalt acetate tetrahydrate is 1:0.8; and (ii) dispersing graphene in deionized water, adding the cobalt bipyridine, and reacting hydrothermally at 120° C for 12 hours, where the mass ratio of cobalt bipyridine, graphene and deionized water is 1:8-12:100.
