NOVELTY - A porous graphene/activated carbon composite adsorbent comprises activated carbon and graphene. The composite adsorbent has density of about 0.2-0.8 g/cm3, specific surface area of 500-2000 m2/g, and hole volume of about 0.3-2 cm3/g. USE - Porous graphene/activated carbon composite adsorbent for air purification, water treatment, catalytic carrier, and electrochemical material. ADVANTAGE - The porous graphene/activated carbon composite adsorbent has high specific surface area, high porosity, low density, and excellent stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation method of porous graphene/activated carbon composite adsorbent, which involves (1) taking 10-30 pts. wt. graphene, using improved Hummers method to prepare graphene oxide, and mixing graphene oxide and concentrated sulfuric acid in mass ratio of (10-30):100 to obtain graphene oxide/concentrated sulfuric acid dispersing liquid, (2) uniformly mixing 10-40 pts. wt. saccharide powder and 1-5 pts. wt. water, adding graphene oxide/concentrated sulfuric acid dispersing liquid obtained in the step (1), and continuously stirring to obtain viscous paste, (3) washing the viscous paste obtained in step (2) with deionized water to neutral to obtain solid material, and (4) drying the solid material obtained in step (3), placing into a tubular furnace, heating at 800-1300 degrees C under nitrogen atmosphere, and maintaining the temperature for 2-10 hours.
