▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Gene delivery composition comprises nitrogen-doped graphene quantum dots (NGQDs) or its salt, as an active ingredient. USE - The composition is useful for delivering gene in a subject, and preparing a gene carrier. The gene is at least one chosen from genomic DNA (gDNA), cDNA, plasmid DNA (pDNA), mRNA, transfer RNA (tRNA), ribosomal RNA (rRNA), small interfering RNA (siRNA), short hairpin RNA (shRNA), microRNA (miRNA), DNA-RNA hybrid, and ribozyme (all claimed). The composition is also useful for treating or preventing one or more diseases. ADVANTAGE - The composition exhibits excellent stability and low cytotoxicity at room temperature, and has a positive charge on its surface, so it can deliver genes into cells by bonding with negatively charged genes through electrostatic attraction, hence the composition shows excellent gene transfer efficiency and transfection efficiency. Test details are described but no results given. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for producing NGQDs, which involves performing hydrothermal reaction of a mixed solution of citric acid and polyethyleneimine (PEI).
