NOVELTY - Preparing graphene using municipal solid waste comprises pulverizing municipal solid waste, collecting municipal solid waste samples with a particle size of less than 150 microns, and carrying out pyrolysis of municipal solid waste samples to obtain municipal solid waste coke, preparing graphite oxide using municipal solid waste coke by improved Hummers method, carrying out reduction of graphite oxide by solvothermal method, filtering the solids, washing, drying and grinding to obtain final product. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene using municipal solid waste.
