NOVELTY - An aqueous epoxy resin based asphalt comprises 80-100 pts. wt. base asphalt, 4-6 pts. wt. sodium tripolyphosphate, 4-6 pts. wt. fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether, 30-50 pts. wt. modified aqueous epoxy resin peptizer, and 5-30 pts. wt. curing agent. The aqueous epoxy resin based asphalt is prepared by: (S1) adding base asphalt, sodium tripolyphosphate and fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether to a stirring tank, and stirring at 200-300 rpm and 150-160 degrees C for 10-15 minutes to obtain a mixture (A); (S2) adding the aqueous epoxy resin peptizer and curing agent to the stirring tank, and stirring at 200-300 rpm and 60-70 degrees C for 5-10 minutes to prepare a mixture (B); (S3) adding the mixtures (A) and (B) into the tank, and stirring at 300-500 rpm and 100-120 degrees C for 3-5 minutes to prepare a mixture (C); and (S4) maintaining the temperature of the mixture (C) at 150 degrees C for 3-5 hours, and curing at 600 degrees C for 3-5 days. USE - Aqueous epoxy resin based asphalt. ADVANTAGE - The aqueous epoxy resin based asphalt has excellent toughness.
