▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - A flame retardant composition comprises graphene nanoplatelets and a condensation product of sulfonated-aromatic compound with formaldehyde. The weight ratio of graphene nanoplatelets and condensation product is 1:5-1:1. USE - Flame retardant composition is used for forming polymeric article (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The flame retardant composition has excellent flame retardance even when applied in small amount, and exhibits excellent characteristics in flame test. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of flame retardant composition, which involves preparing graphene nanoplatelets by expanding flakes of intercalated graphite having lateral size of 500 mu m or less, by exposure at 1300 degrees C or more for less than 3 seconds, dispersing 1-40 wt.% expanded graphite in water, and treating the obtained water dispersion with ultrasound at energy level of 100-2000 W for 1-100 hours.
