▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Detecting concentration of ion in solution involves providing a capacitive de-ionization cell comprising working electrode, determining capacitive charging current and voltage on the working electrode, determining concentration of ions in solution from changes in the charging current and voltage over time, and applying potential across the working electrode in the solution. The working electrode is made of high surface area conductive material, which is functionalized with ion specific binding sites. USE - Detecting concentration of ion in solution such as brackish water and sea water (all claimed). Uses include but are not limited to municipal sewer waste, industrial waste stream, acid mine drainage, biological sample, waste water with heavy metal and fertilizer, etc. ADVANTAGE - The method enables accurate monitoring of contamination levels which would ultimately help direct both decontamination and pollution prevention efforts. It also facilitates the emergence of circular economies, and provides resources to promote the implementation of this clean-up technology. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) device for detecting ion concentration in solution; and (2) system for detecting ion concentration in solution.
