▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Elastomeric isolator comprises a layer of an elastomeric material, where the layer of elastomeric material is provided with a reinforcing material layer in the form of a graphene layer. USE - The isolator is used for seismic isolation of structures. ADVANTAGE - The isolator is beneficial to vibration isolation systems made with rubber, as it would enable using low damping natural rubber in lieu of expensive high damping rubber (requiring an additional manufacturing process to be filled with reinforcing particles), where few layer graphene transferred on top of the specimen enhance the clamping, hence natural rubber can be used in lieu of high damping rubber, saving the cost of reinforcing rubber with particulate fillers and the quest for future research is to determine the optimal quantity of graphene to be transferred homogenously on the rubber pad that would enhance its mechanical properties.
