NOVELTY - A graphene-based film (a) comprising sheets of graphene, graphene oxide, partially reduced graphene oxide and reduced graphene oxide are arranged relative to each other in a planar manner to form a layered structure, and partially separated by a liquid medium is provided. The liquid medium is exchanged with packing density adjustment medium comprising 2 or more components. The component has volatility greater than the other component, and some volatile component are removed from the graphene-based film (a) to produce a graphene-based film. USE - Preparation of graphene-based film used as electrode for supercapacitor and used for device (all claimed) e.g. biomedical device, electrode, battery, separation device, sensor, supercapacitor and actuator. Uses include but are not limited to energy storage, catalysis, sensing, filtration and composite. ADVANTAGE - The method provides graphene-based film having high ion-accessible surface area, and low-ion transport impedance.
