NOVELTY - The bulk electrically conductive component comprises a nanocomposite material (1) which has a matrix (2) and nano-crystallites (3) embedded in the matrix. The electrical conductivity of the component is determined by a two-dimensional character of the matrix such as for pseudo-two-dimensional materials like graphene. USE - Bulk electrically conductive component e.g. electrical contact (claimed), electrical conductor for electrical contact arrangement (claimed) in electrical device. Uses include but are not limited to cable, conductor bundle, circuit breaker, generator breaker, contactor, power interrupter, disconnector, relay, vacuum interrupter, fuse, current limiter, or selector switch. ADVANTAGE - Allows utilization of electrically conductive material which is easier to optimize with regards to electrical conductivity, thermal shock, arc erosion/melting, welding, or wear and corrosion. Allows use of sintering method to enable usage of large quantities for production of the component, thus ensuring cost efficient production of component. Achieves superior electrical conductivity.
