NOVELTY - Catalyst comprises a porous carrier, a platinum supported on the pores of the porous carrier, and rhenium supported in a mixture with the platinum in the pores. USE - The catalyst is useful for hydrogen production. ADVANTAGE - The catalyst remarkably improves dehydrogenation activity even at a low temperature, and effectively obtains hydrogen from a liquid organic hydrogen storage. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for producing the catalyst, involving (a) loading the platinum precursor solution and rhenium precursor solution in the pores of the porous carrier, and (b) reducing the porous carrier on which the platinum precursor solution and rhenium precursor solution are supported; and (2) a method for producing hydrogen, involving mixing the catalyst, and a liquid organic hydrogen carrier, and performing a dehydrogenation reaction after the mixing.
