NOVELTY - Preparation of metal cobalt/graphene composite foam material involves soaking polyurethane foam in 1 g/L acidic aqueous solution of potassium permanganate at 45 degrees C for 5 minutes, removing, rinsing, soaking the cleaned polyurethane foam in 10 g/L aqueous solution of oxalic acid at 45 degrees C for 5 minutes, removing, rinsing, placing in flask containing 0.1 g/L palladium chloride, 5 g/L stannous chloride and 100 g/L sodium chloride in 1000 mL water for 10 minutes, removing, rinsing, soaking in 3.7% concentrated hydrochloric acid solution for 5 minutes, removing and rinsing. USE - Method for preparing metal cobalt/graphene composite foam material used for energy storage, water processing and sound insulation (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, easy to control and low-cost and has moderate synthesis condition and controllable material size. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of metal cobalt/graphene composite foam material comprises: (A) soaking polyurethane foam in 1 g/L acidic aqueous solution of potassium permanganate at 45 degrees C for 5 minutes, removing, rinsing, soaking the cleaned polyurethane foam in 10 g/L aqueous solution of oxalic acid at 45 degrees C for 5 minutes, removing, rinsing, placing in flask containing 0.1 g/L palladium chloride, 5 g/L stannous chloride and 100 g/L sodium chloride in 1000 mL water for 10 minutes, removing, rinsing, soaking in 3.7% concentrated hydrochloric acid solution for 5 minutes, removing and rinsing; (B) taking cobalt sulfate, sodium citrate, sodium hypophosphite and boric acid, dissolving in deionized water, stirring, mixing, adding oxidized graphene solution and ultrasonically dispersing to prepare plating solution; (C) dissolving sodium phosphate in water, adding oxidized graphene solution, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain pre-dipping solution, squeezing polyurethane foam and soaking in pre-dipping solution for 10 minutes; and (D) soaking polyurethane foam in bath, adjusting pH value of bath to 8.5-8.8 using dilute sodium hydroxide solution, reacting polyurethane foam with cobalt plating at 80-90 degrees C for 30-120 minutes, removing, rinsing and drying.
