▎ 摘　　要

NOVELTY - A gas diffusion barrier comprises a polymer matrix; and a functional graphene (G1) which displays no signature of graphite and/or graphite oxide, as determined by X-ray diffraction. USE - As gas diffusion barrier (claimed) useful in gas barrier applications including tires, bladder, packaging material, automotive applications, portable electronic device, polymer films, flexible tubing for medical applications, chemical and biological warfare, and gloves for chemical protection. ADVANTAGE - The functionalized graphene sheet (FGS) improves the gas barrier properties of polymer materials, the mechanical (strength, toughness, modulus) and thermal stability of the polymer composite, and also the electrical conductivity of the polymer composite. The FGS improves performance of high-pressure gas storage cylinders. The FGS is relatively easy to manufacture compared to other nano-sized filler that are used in the composites and it is naturally available. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacturing (M1) the gas diffusion barrier involving adding the functional graphene (G1) to a polymer matrix.
