NOVELTY - Preparation of flame-retardant toughened PBT, involves mixing modified silicon carbide powder particles, boron carbide, flame retardant, and defoamer in a weight ratio of 25-30:0.5:4-6:0.3, mixing the obtained mixed material (A) with water in a ratio of 0.3-0.5 kg/L, milling for 15-20 hours to obtain a slurry, sintering the slurry at high temperature for 1-3 hours, cooling and grinding to obtain compound powder particles of silicon carbide-zinc borate, and discharging, preheating PBT at 100-120 degrees C for 1-2 hours, mixing the preheated PBT, silicon carbide-zinc borate powder particles, antioxidant, lubricant, and hydrolysis inhibitor in a weight ratio of 42-48:16-20:0.4-1:1-2:0.3-0.5 to obtain a mixed material, extruding the mixed material in a twin-screw extruder, cooling, and cutting. USE - Preparation of flame-retardant toughened PBT for motor inserting sheets. ADVANTAGE - The method reduces the influence of flame retardant on the toughness of PBT.
