NOVELTY - Preparing solid material graphene oxide (GO) comprises dispersing 2 g flake graphite in 25-40 g concentrated nitric acid, stirring at 0-5 degrees C for 18-24 hours, adding 3-5 g potassium permanganate, stirring for 1-3 hours, adding 20-35 g hydrogen peroxide, heating to 80-90 degrees C, refluxing for 6-8 hours, washing the product with deionized water until the filtrate is neutral, and drying the filter cake to obtain oxide GO. USE - The solid material GO is useful for adsorbing carbon dioxide. ADVANTAGE - The solid material GO has large adsorption amount in the low concentration carbon dioxide environment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for modifying solid material GO for adsorbing carbon dioxide, comprising dissolving organic amine in 30 g absolute ethyl alcohol, adding solid material GO for adsorbing carbon dioxide, ultra-sonicating at 40-50 degrees C for 1-2 hours to obtain suspension, transferring the suspension to polytetrafluoroethylene lining, hydrothermally treating the product at 100-120 degrees C for 12-24 hours, cooling the product, centrifuging, and drying to obtain modified material Am/GO, where the organic amine is aminopropyltrimethoxysilane, aminopropyltriethoxysilane, N-(3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl)ethylenediamine, and N-(3-(triethoxysilyl)propyl)ethylenediamine.
