NOVELTY - Preparing transition metal compound-carbon nano-composite material comprises uniformly mixing nitrogen-doped carbon nano-material dispersed in a specific polyol with a transition metal salt solution dispersed in the same polyol, adjusting the pH of the mixed solution to be alkaline, and performing microwave treatment on the mixture to obtain a composite material precursor under an air atmosphere, and thermally treating the precursor in air or inert gas to obtain the transition metal-carbon nanocomposite materials. USE - The method for preparing transition metal compound-carbon nano-composite material useful in electrochemical energy storage and electrocatalysis (claimed).
