NOVELTY - Vibration-damping and sound-insulation material comprises a base material and a film attached to the surface of the base material. The base material comprises 100-200 pts. wt. polyacrylate rubber, 70-100 pts. wt. polyisobutylene, 20-100 pts. wt. polyacrylamide, 50-200 pts. wt. antioxidant, 30-100 pts. wt. hollow quartz fiber, 50-150 pts. wt. expanded vermiculite, 150-400 pts. wt. inorganic filler, 70-160 pts. wt. tackifying resin, and 100-250 pts. wt. flame retardant. The film layer is an aluminum-plated film, an aluminum plastic film, a non-woven fabric or a hot melt adhesive film. USE - The material is useful in rail vehicle body (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material has excellent vibration damping and sound insulation performance, high loss factor, good environmental protection, strength, bending property, low temperature resistance, and inflaming retarding ability. The method is simple, and suitable for use in the profile gap of rail vehicle body. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) preparing vibration-damping and sound-insulating material, comprising mixing, molding and laminating; and (2) method for using vibration-damping and sound-insulating material in rail vehicle body, comprising cutting the vibration-damping and sound-insulating material into strip shape, and inserting into cavity of the rail traffic vehicle body section material.
