NOVELTY - The OLED device has a planar sheet of doped graphene (12) located on exposed surface of substrate (10), and an interfacial layer located directly on exposed surface of planar sheet of doped graphene. An electroluminescent material layer (16) is located directly on exposed surface of interfacial layer while a cathode material layer is located directly on exposed surface of electroluminescent material layer. USE - OLED device used for e.g. display, lighting. ADVANTAGE - Reduces the cost of manufacturing OLED devices while making OLED device extremely flexible by using graphene. The graphene is chemically doped so that the work function of the graphene is shifted to a higher value for better hole injection into the OLED device. The interfacial layer comprising a conductive polymer and/or metal oxide further reduce the remaining injection barrier.
