▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Method for producing green emitting graphene quantum dots from coal, involves chemically oxidizing coal in an acidic environment, filtering the oxidizing coal in neutral pH through a PTFE membrane and retaining the size of 0.45 mm, hydrothermally cutting the oxidized coal at 120-130 degrees C for 2-3 hours, and purifying the oxidized coal by Whatman filter paper technique. USE - The method is useful for producing green emitting graphene quantum dots from coal. ADVANTAGE - The method: utilizes cheap and abundantly available precursor material (coal); allows for direct and rapid (12 hours) synthesis, and very simple separation step; utilizes innovative hydrothermal process (pressure cooker/autoclave treatment) which occurs at low temperature (130 degrees C); and provides moderately high (45%) product yield. The produced green quantum dots exhibit green fluorescent property of 3.5%, quantum yield efficiency with uniform distribution of particle size (4-8 nm). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the graphene quantum dots having functional groups in combinations of carboxylic acid, epoxy, alkoxy and hydroxyl groups on their aromatic surfaces.
