NOVELTY - Preparing nickel-doped cerium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide electro-catalyst comprises (a) pre-heating the alkaline solution containing cerium ions, graphene oxide solution and decanoic acid, where the ratio of cerium ions, graphene oxide and decanoic acid is 1:1:8, heat preserving at 400-440℃, separating the product in the obtained mixed system to obtain cerium dioxide / reduced graphene oxide, (b) dipping the cerium dioxide / reduced graphene oxide in nickel acetate solution, taking out, washing, drying to obtain a dipped solid and (c) heat-treating the dipped solid at 500-600℃ in an atmosphere of hydrogen and argon to obtain a nickel-doped cerium dioxide /reduced graphene oxide electro-catalyst. USE - The method is useful for preparing nickel-doped cerium dioxide/reduced graphene oxide electro-catalyst. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical; has short synthesis time, good repeatability; fully utilizes the supercritical hydrothermal system to support the nickel-doped cerium dioxide nano crystals with uniform size on the reduced graphene oxide. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a nickel-doped cerium dioxide /reduced graphene oxide electro-catalyst which is obtained by the above method.
