NOVELTY - Manufacture of negative electrode material involves growing silicon nanospheres on a graphene surface to form a graphene/silicon nanosphere composite material, sugar-coating the graphene/silicon nanosphere composite material, and carbonizing the sugar-coated graphene/silicon nanosphere composite material to form a composite material of carbon/graphene/silicon nanospheres. USE - Manufacture of material used for forming negative electrode for lithium-ion battery. ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple manufacture of negative electrode material with high productivity. The silicon nanospheres are miniature and uniform, and combined with graphene, thus effectively reducing volume expansion of silicon caused by delithiation during charge/discharge process, lowering internal stress of electrode, and preventing damage caused by over-expansion of silicon nanospheres.
