NOVELTY - Graphene-manganese dioxide cathode material comprises cathode material including graphene and manganese dioxide nanorods including at least two of alpha -manganese dioxide nanorods, beta -manganese dioxide nanorods, gamma -manganese dioxide nanorods or delta -manganese dioxide nanorods. USE - The graphene-manganese dioxide cathode material is useful in lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The material: can significantly improves conductivity of manganese dioxide cathode materials and enhance structural stability of nanomaterials; provides more active sites for electrochemical reactions and absorb and store more electrolyte; effectively limits the volume change caused by lithium ions during deintercalation process; and has good characteristics rate performance and high first charge and discharge efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) preparing graphene-manganese dioxide cathode material comprising mixing and drying manganese dioxide nanorod solution and graphene solution to obtain graphene-manganese dioxide cathode material; and (2) lithium ion battery comprising cathode pole piece provided with graphene-manganese dioxide cathode material.
